Not sure why "motorcycle" was not an option.
Sorry if I wasn't the first to post this as I scrolled down a bit, but not to the end.

The 4WD/AWD categories should be combined. Few polled understand the technical distinction

Windrifter, the main difference between 4WD and AWD is 4WD has "locking differentials", AWD is "on" all the time.

Someone please tell me what is the difference between 4 wheel drive and all wheel drive. I guess it would be different if it was the Mr. Bean car we are referring to :)

My primary vehicle depends on what I am doing. Long distance equals the fwd fuel efficient car. Pretty much anything down a dirt road is the 4wd truck. Just general running around by myself is the two wheeled variety.

My 2008 Focus allows me to monitor my driving habits by posting my average MPG on the dashboard. It really goes up on the turnpikes as drive with a steady foot on the gas.

2011 F150 2wd RWD SuperCrew 3.7L V6 with cold air induction (Volant w/scoop) and reprogrammed chip (5star tuning set for performance) so I get 16-18 in town (depends on driving habits) and 22+ highway. Went from a 2004 Chevy Colorado 5 cyc 3.5L 2wd RWD @ 17/23mpg So got a bigger truck with about the same mpg after a few tweaks Better ride, more comfortable and more secure (6 airbags) Of course I would have wanted a Prius but I like bigger so the comfort versus gas savings. Comfort wins.
